OLD STORE STOCK! Vintage 14K Gold Religious Medal - Saint Francis of Assisi!
Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST!
OLD STORE STOCK! What does this mean? Well, to a person who sells jewelry, it’s like finding a Holy Grail – store stock that was stored for so long that it was never offered to the public. This means, in some instances, that the original card, wrapping, packaging is present as well as the original sales price. I got lucky recently and came into such a collection of old store stock that listings beginning with this blurb have not seen the light of day in 50 – 60 – 70 years. First come, first served. May I offer now……
AGE: C.1950 or so
ITEM: Saint Francis of Assisi - Patron Saint of all animals! Here's a religious medal of the Blessed Saint still on its original card and still having its original cellophane. Never been sold - never been worn! While the front of the medal is matte gold with almost a chisel like appearance to the piece, the back is plain, shiny metal - made to engrave a sentiment on the back. A perfect size for lady or gent.
CONDITION: Pristine! This medal/pendant is “First Strike” meaning the design is so clean, so crisp, you can discern all the details of the figures. Medals of the modern era are usually restrikes, actually more like restrikes of restrikes so that all the fine details of the figures can no longer be seen.
METAL CONTENT: 14K Gold
HALLMARKS: 14K at the back along with a maker's mark I am not familiar with.
SIZE: 13/16" high/wide not including the bale or jump ring
WEIGHT: A respectable 3.7 grams.
FINAL COMMENTS: I only have one and with the holidays fast approaching and my knowing that my religious inventory gets depleted, don’t delay in grabbing this item sooner rather than later.
