Vintage STERLING SILVER & Enamel Mechanical Charm - Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe
Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST! May I offer….
AGE: C.1960 or so
ITEM: A silver charm in the shape of a boot, the boot a home, and once the top is pulled, the inhabitants of the home - the little old lady who lived in a shoe (along with 3 children), the figures in cold enamel colors of blue, red and yellow! I guess the lady could also be Mother Hubbard as some dealers call her but I prefer the lady in the boot-shoe. The bottom sole tucks nicely into the boot and stays put until opened.
CONDITION: Very nice with a very mellow patina to the silver. Enamel is just as it was first applied - the heads of all having no color.
METAL CONTENT: Sterling Silver
HALLMARKS: None that I can spot. The hallmark was more than likely on the missing jump ring.
SIZE: Closed, the charm measures about 1/2" high x 5/8" wide.
WEIGHT: A respectable 4.5 grams.
FINAL COMMENTS: Ready for a charm bracelet.
