Vintage ITALIAN Medal/Charm - Saint Peter & The Keys to Heaven
Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST! May I offer….
AGE: Somewhere between 1922 and 1939 though my bet is on the later year.
ITEM: A silverplate medal or pendant from Italy featuring the profile of Pope Pius XI on one side and Saint Peter holding the Keys to Heaven on the other. If the spiritual connotation holds true, I believe the medal was struck upon Pope Pius/ death and his entry into the Kingdom of God.

METAL CONTENT: Silverplate or Silver Tone Metal
HALLMARKS: None that I can spot.
SIZE: 13/16" high/wide NOT including the bale/jump ring.
WEIGHT: Hefty at 3.6 grams.
FINAL COMMENTS: Pope Pius XI, (Italian: Pio XI) born Ambrogio Damiano Achille Ratti[a], 31 May 1857 – 10 February 1939), reigned as Pope from 6 February 1922 to his death in 1939. He was the first sovereign of Vatican City from its creation as an independent state on 11 February 1929. He took as his papal motto, "Pax Christi in Regno Christi," translated "The Peace of Christ in the Kingdom of Christ."
