CLASSIC 1960s BARACUTA Four Climes Trench Coat - Khaki with Inner Liner

Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST! May I offer….

AGE: C.1960/70 - maybe a bit later but I really am not sure. More than likely purchased in Canada.

ITEM: From my father's closet in Canada, the original owner. Here's a Baracuta Four Climes - Made in England trench coat with 8 button front, right side gun flap, shoulder loops, 2 outer pockets, 2 inner pockets, waist belt, 2 sleeve belts AND with the removable inner wool lining.

MAKER: Baracuta was, and still is, a contemporary of the other "B" name and, with certain items of clothing, just as pricey. While the short wind breakers are more well known (Steve McQueen owned one as well as James Dean and Daniel Craig has worn them in the James Bond films), Barracuta's trench coat is still a marvel of British manufacture!

CONDITION: Pretty darn nice for its age. The coat has that "lived in" look - I mean, you know just by looking at it that it is not new but "was loved". It's the sort of coat that Bogie would have worn in Casablanca - time honored - taken care of but having seen time! No holes that I can spot in the canvas. Inner lining is good - buttonholes haven't come unravelled so it goes in clean when buttoned to the main coat. Overall, a perfect trench coat that looks good even today!

LABELS: Baracuta "B" Over a Lion/Four Climes - Made in England Label on the coat. 51% Cotton/49% Polyester label on the inside left of the coat.

The inner wool lining has the 100% wool tag as shown.

SIZE: The inner tag states 44 Long. Other measurements I can determine using a yardstick and measuring just the front (not all the way around) -

Length from top of shoulder down to bottom - 48"

Armpit to Armpit - 22"

Waist (where the two pockets are): 24"

Width of sleeve - 7"

Neck - 19-1/2"

FINAL COMMENTS: I, myself (female), am a size 18 at 5' 9-1/2". I could wear this trench myself but it would need to be taken in a smidge. So if a lady is thinking of this beauty - a seamstress can work miracles, I think.

ORIGINAL RETAIL: I hate to think! Of course it would have been 60s dollars worth a lot more today!

NOTE: This is a VERY HEAVY coat so postage is quoted to the best of my ability - any overage, I will refund - any underage, I will eat.

Anyone want?
