VICTORIAN Trade Card for L.I. Fisk & Co's Extra Pale Bar Soap
Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST!
Both Art and I love paper and with Art’s collection from the past 50 years and my collection from the last 30 years, we have a lot of ephemera to offer on Ruby Lane. It is going to take some time to get it all listed, but when we finish, there should be something to tempt anyone who visits the shop. Up for offer now…..
AGE: C.1890 or so
ITEM: A Victorian era trade card for L.I. Fisk & Co's Extra Pale Bar Soap. Front graphics depict a reclining lady in blue surrounded by a young girl (sitting, partially dressed) and two children (no clothes). A maid seems to be coaxing the children to wash while another young girl washes her hand in a basin (top left). The back of the card states all the info about the product - Extra Pale, Cut Full Weight, Two, Three and Four Pound Bars of the Best and Cleanest Bar Soap in America!
CONDITION: Very nice with great color. The back of the card has light age browning and there is a bit of shaved paper at the bottom right corner - nothing that breaks to the other side.
NOTE: The cards always look better in person than in my scans/photos.
PUBLISHERS INFORMATION: None.
SIZE: 4-3/4" x 2-3/4"
FINAL COMMENTS: One terrific old card!
FURTHER NOTE: I can put an awful lot of paper into one envelope so be assured, if you buy more than 1 piece of paper, I will adjust the postage once I receive the purchase order. And please, don’t pay until I HAVE revised the postage. Thanks.
