C.1900 FRENCH Silverplate Sliding Mirror Locket/Pendant - Joan of Arc Front
Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST! May I offer….
AGE: C.1900 or so
ITEM: From France, a silverplate pendant or locket containing a mirror. Also known as a slider pendant, the front of the piece features a really unique profile of the Blessed Joan of Arc while the reverse has a very nice sinewy design along with a few florals. A really lovely Art Nouveau beauty!
CONDITION: Very nice with, what I consider to be, the perfect patina of age. The slider moves easily back and forth and will stay in place when worn but does have a little wiggle room for it to go left or right. Mirror is clean with what looks like one age spot (tiny) and a few specks of powder?
METAL CONTENT: Silverplate - Silver Plate
HALLMARKS: E.D. to the lower right of Joan - most likely the sculptor's initials.
SIZE: Without the bale or jump ring, 1-5/8" high/wide.
WEIGHT: 13.1 grams
FINAL COMMENTS: Just needs the right chain - mine is for display purposes only!
