Dated 1903 B&W Book Illustration by Harrison Fisher - Lady & Gent Travelling
Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST! May I offer….
AGE: Dated 1903
ITEM: A black & white book illustration by Harrison Fisher (1877-1934) Mr Fisher was an American artist who, like Charles Dana Gibson, sought to beautify the Edwardian woman. Illustrations by Fisher were recognized as the epitome of feminine beauty - lithe, elegant, independent, and intelligent. The illustration I offer here is of a lady and gent (husband and wife) each reading a book.
CONDITION: Very nice with slight browning at the edges. Original onion skin covering is still present which reads "In consequence, we only bowed formally." (page 31). Sorry, I do not know which book this illustration is from.
SIZE: Page measures 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" approx.
FINAL COMMENTS: Ready to frame or reproduce!
