Interesting 1940s Mexican STERLING SILVER Pin - Standing Crane or Stork
Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST! May I offer for your consideration....
AGE: C.1940 or so
ITEM: A silver pin, very thick and heavy, featuring the design of a bird (crane or stork) standing in water. With wavy sides, the pin is representative of early work by Spratling and the other Mexican Silver masters.
CONDITION: Very nice with a simple c-catch at the back to hold the pinstem in place.
METAL CONTENT: Sterling Silver
HALLMARKS: STERLING - no other mark. I am guessing Mexican manufacture due to the nature of the design but it is possible it is American or even European manufactured.
SIZE: 2-3/4" x 1-3/16"
WEIGHT: 17 grams
FINAL COMMENTS: Interesting subject matter!
