C.1890 GILT METAL Miniature Picture Frame - Heart Shape with Bow
Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST! May I offer….
AGE: C.1890 or so
ITEM: Found in Vancouver, B.C. with its provenance most likely in England, here's a gilt metal miniature picture frame in the shape of a heart and bearing a bow at the bottom (acting as the feet). The original easel is in place and the back board appears to be faux leather. Glass is present and to remove the current print of Queen Victoria, all you need do is push on the glass at an angle and the contents fall out completely.
CONDITION: Very nice with no problems I can spot. There is a definite patina of age and yes, it does look like one end of the bow is slightly higher than the other but I can assure you - they are pretty much at the same level.
METAL CONTENT: Gilt Brass or Tin?
HALLMARKS: None that I can spot.
SIZE: Frame measures 1-3/4" high x 1-3/4" wide. Image opening is 1-1/8" x 1-1/4".
FINAL COMMENTS: Anything heart shaped is hard to find so don't let this lovely pass you by!
