Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Watch Case - Locket - Pendant | Monogram JMS - Lovely Engraved Design Front and Back

Yes, it looks like an English sovereign holder, but it's not. Dating anywhere from the late 1890s to the early 1900s, may I offer this Sterling Silver (hallmarked as pictured) watch case that is missing its guts. Now, it can be used as a locket or a pendant. Lovely engraved design both back and front with a monogram of JMS to the front. The locket opens by pressing the top button down; when closed, the edges are more closed on the left than on the right. Size, the the large bale positioned UP, measures 1-7/8" x 1-1/4" approx. The round container alone measures 1-1/4" high/wide. Weight is 10.2 grams. No dents or dings to the piece but there is a small piece of steel? metal? that is a little rusted on the inside. I don't want to touch it so I will leave the decision to the new owner. All that's needed now is the right chain to make it complete!
