Antique Victorian Metal Button - One Single Flower
Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST!
About 20 years ago, Art came into 3 shadowboxes full of Victorian buttons. Well, he couldn't sell the buttons as a set so he had me take them from the boxes to list individually which I am now doing. I'm not a button expert but I do know a good one (or two) when I see them. So up for offer now:
AGE: I am guessing but anywhere from the late 1800s to early 1900s.
ITEM: A metal button, shank back, with a concave front, the top of which sits a small floral and the bottom features some engraved leaves. The button seems to be blackened silver while the engraved section of the leaves has a touch of gold. I don't know if a polish would bring up a silver base.
CONDITION: Very nice with no problems I can spot.
METAL CONTENT: Base metal? Silver? Silverplate?
HALLMARKS: None that I can spot.
SIZE: 11/16" across
FINAL COMMENTS: Definitely a unique bit of metal for a treasured project!
NOTE: If you are purchasing more than 1 item from my shop, please wait for me to amend the invoice. I can put a lot of small goodies in one envelope for transport!
