Woolson Spice Company Midsummer Greeting - Cherry Ripe | Lady Picking Cherries - Antique Victorian Trade Card
Here's a fabulous Woolson Spice Midsummer Greeting chromolithograph trade card dating to the late 1890s and featuring a gorgeous curly-haired brunette dressed in Victorian garb picking cherries from a tree. Cherry Ripe was the name of a popular tune in the old days and one can see how Woolson decided to take advantage of the popularity of the song. With deep ink to the printing, the card is lightly embossed. While the front of the card is absolutely perfect, the reverse tells its story - that the piece was pasted into a Victorian scrap book. Size is 6-1/2" x 4-3/16". This is a card that really demands framing - it is just that gorgeous!
