Vintage Rose Gold Filled Turkish Charm for Ayasofya!
Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST! May I offer….
AGE: C.1950 or so
ITEM: Found attached to a travel shield charm bracelet, here's a rose gold topped, gold filled, cut work charm to celebrate a visit to Ayasofya. Ayasofya is a former Christian patriarchal basilica (church), later an imperial mosque, and now a museum (Ayasofya Müzesi) in Istanbul, Turkey.
CONDITION: Very nice with a mellow patina to the silver - I'm sure a light polish will bring up a high shine.
METAL CONTENT: The top tests at a 10K level; the innards of the charm are more than likely gold filled.
HALLMARKS: None. Metal was gently acid tested for content.
SIZE: 9/16" high/wide not including the bale.
WEIGHT: .4 grams
FINAL COMMENTS: An interesting vintage travel souvenir from Turkey!
