Unused Antique Victorian Greeting Card for Easter Presentation
Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST! May I offer….
AGE: C.1890 or so
ITEM: Die cut, floral, unused, charming, perfect, hard to find! Yep, all adjectives to describe this adorable Victorian era Greeting Card! For presentation at Easter, the front of the card is a cutwork/paper lace design - just below it is a chromolithograph of a cross and a white floral - not a lily - looks like a cross between a Daffodil center and a Daisy. The card opens to reveal a reproduction die cut of angels, a poem and a glittered panel to cover the original sentiment. The poem reads "He conquered death And brought life and immortality to Light. There's a message 'mid the trees Waking now to life anew, There's a whisper in the breeze And in springtide's gentle dew, Life is evermore victorious, Trove for aye is sovereign glorious; Easter breathes to every heart Winter shall at length depart." Poem by Margaret Hayscradt.
CONDITION: Excellent for its age - can be gifted once more. No envelope but the piece will come in a glassine envelope. And if I do manage to find an envelope, I will include it when I mail the card. New side tie for the spine as the original ribbon had disintegrated.
SIZE: When closed, 3" wide x 4-3/8" high.
FINAL COMMENTS: Keep, display, download the graphics, gift - the possibilities are endless! With modern day cards commanding hefty prices - why not gift ANTIQUE for about the same price!
