ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN 10K Gold & Bloodstone Intaglio Ring for a Gent
Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST! May I offer….
AGE: C.1900 or so
ITEM: With a bit of engraving to the area beneath the intaglio, here's a really niocely wrought men's ring from the Edwardian era. Featuring an Intaglio of a Greek or Roman soldier, it appears the stone used for the setting is a piece of Bloodstone - dark, dark grey green with flecks of brick red.
CONDITION: Very nice with no real problems I can spot. A couple of light surface marks that can be polished out but that's about it.
METAL CONTENT: 10K Gold
HALLMARKS: 10K along with jewelers scratched in marks of D86 - this was probably the design number of the intaglio used in the ring.
SIZE: Ring size is 10 on my sizer. Size of the intaglio is 1/2" x 9/16".
WEIGHT: 6.2 grams
FINAL COMMENTS: Just remember, 10K is a much stronger gold than 14K and will wear a lot better if the ring is won on a continual basis.
