4 B and O Railroad B&O Train Service Baltimore & Ohio Victorian Trade Cards - Images of Passengers in Winter Garb
Dating to the late 1890s or so, here's a set of 4, all from the same series, Victorian trade cards advertising the B & O Railroad train service/Baltimore & Ohio. All the cards have drawn images that really do highlight the artwork involved. Lovely ladies, gallant gentlemen, everyday gents and darling children make up the design of the cards - all dressed in holiday winter garb. 2 of the cards backs appear to be TITLE cards (Ever Picturesque B and O East and West - Only Line in Washington AND Typical Tourists of the Day A B and O Souvenir) while the other 2 seem to tell a story (Timely Topic and Winter Wealth). While the title cards are complete in their wording, the 2 story cards have been printed in such a way that the one margin is too large resulting in some portion of words missing on the other side. Condition is nice with no tears, stains, etc - just the light browning that comes with old age.
Each card measures 4-3/16" x 3-1/2".
Would look terrific framed!
