These stunning earrings in 14 karat yellow and white gold started out life as cufflinks in the early 20th century. The original connecting bars were marked 14k and the earrings have been tested. The style an construction dated them most likely to the teens or 1920s. The posts are 14 karat modern safety posts, measuring about 3/8 inch. They come with safety nuts (quite tight, but a competent jeweler can make them a bit looser easily-I prefer the security of the tight fit). The earrings measure about 9/16 of an inch. The yellow gold center panels have a black enamel line that separates them from the scalloped white gold trim. The white gold edges make the earrings look like they are surround by diamond when the light hits them. 3.5 grams.
