Beautifully detailed Holly adorns this spoon by Simpson Hall and Miller. The spoon appears to have been part of a monthly season, adorned with flowers or plants associated with different months, with this one marked 'December' in raised letters on the reverse. The spoon comes from a nice early 20th century collection of Art Nouveau spoons. It weighs over 30 grams and measures about 5 7/8 inches in length. Very good condition.
Simpson Hall and Miller was absorbed by International. This piece bears the stylized mark used by Simpson Hall and Miller, but it was used later by International, but usually the International name was also added to the later pieces. Late 19th or early 20th century. Also marked Sterling.
