1935 Big Little Book by Whitman Publishing Company. Illustrated by the legendary Hal Forrest, who created the first aviation comic, Artie the Ace. Tommy Tailspin was created in 1928 and was widely syndicated in newspapers. Forrest was a WWI veteran, having served with the 144th Pursuit Squadron. Gaylord DuBois, the story author wrote for many popular characters books and comics, including Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Red Ryder and did the Tarzan storylines for Dell from 1946 until 1971.
. Hard cover. 3 5/8" x 4 1/2" x 1 1/2". 432 pages. End paper has original owners name, in pencil, and Oil City PA. Slight damage to p.253, and tear to one of endpapers. Normal wear to corners and spine. Good condition.
