Measuring about 8 ½ inches in height, a canoneer from the time of Napoleon's battles in Austria.
The original was made and designed by Gerhard Bochmann, one of Goebel's best known designers and sculptors. Excellent detail and hand-painting. Excellent condition, with no defect of any sort.
Marked with the Goebel V-Bee mark of the time, and 'by W. Goebel W. Germany'. ''1968' and 'LF11' are impressed into the bottom of the base, and the Bochmann name is impressed on the top of the base, which measures approximately 3 ½ inches x 3 inches. The base is lettered 'Artilleuer 1805'. The original Golden Crown E & R label is in place, indicating the item was imported by Ebeling & Reuss, one of the major importers of Goebel items, along with many other fine European items.
This is one of 8 figurines which I am offering from this series, and all are shown in my final photo.
