This Sterling Silver spoon by the Watson Company measures about 5 ½ inches in length. The bowl has an image of the Capitol, with 'The Capitol' and 'Washington D.C.', all in slightly raised relief. The White House and New Library appear in cartouches on the front of the piece, along with part of a flag. The New Library appears to be the Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress, opened in 1897.The back of the spoon shows Washington's Tomb and the Treasury Building, along with another Washington D. C. mark. It has the mark of the Watson Company and 'Sterling' marked on the back of the spoon. 20.6 grams.
