Antique American 14" Teddy Bear, BMC. c 1907, made by Bruin Manufacturing Company in NYC for a brief time. There is a remnant of their blue embroidered label, on right foot seam.
Very little apricot mohair left, most is on head, luckily. Eyes are replaced. Old recovers in layers over felt pads.
Described as "featherweight" in ads of the time, bear is mostly kapok filled, with some excelsior. Can feel squeaker.
Other BMC features include 5 claws, vertical stitched nose and a generally, pointed foxy expression.
Bedelia wears an antique calico dress from her era and carries her pet rabbit with her to her new home, thank you.
