Antique Pieced Wool Quilt TOP, Courthouse Lawn, Vibrant. Circa Victorian era, late 19th century, found in Pennsylvania German country. Mostly wool, challis, some calicoes, silk and printed flannel, i.e. dress fabrics. All hand-pieced, unwashed and no fading that I can find. Edges have line of seam holes so was maybe removed from a backing at some point. Top measures about 60" x 78". Very Good condition - the only flaw I can find is 2 shattered blue silk blocks-see centers of blocks. No dye run or moth damage. Vivid browns, blues and green with a dash of red makes for a great wall hanging or table cover for winter. Wool colors tend to appear much more saturated than cottons, thank you.
