Vintage Amish Doll Quilt, Lancaster County. PA, Provenance. Wonderful old doll quilt, with provenance, "From Lydia K. Ebersol c 1950's, Strasburg, PA" label attached. Pieced of 2 triangles to make a square, I have found other doll quilts from this area, made the same way. Made up in all synthetics which have been enjoyed by the Amish since the 1940's, i.e. over 60 years. Burgundy-Mauve front is a rayon crepe and Mint Green back is a textured acetate. Quilt is reversible. There is a Dark Green taffeta binding which forms a border. Hand-quilted in a floral pattern of tulips in dark green thread. Batting feels like polyester. Graphic little, jewel-toned textile for a girl to cover her dolls. The little quilt measures about 23" x 24". Found in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, thank you and enjoy.
