Early Handmade 17" Raggedy Ann Cloth/Rag Doll. Better than store-bought is our Raggedy Ann, likely made in response to a demand for a Volland doll in the 1920's. Ann has a quirky ink drawn face, black shoe button eyes, and brown yarn hair. Her layers of homemade clothing include a black checkered dress with red trim, white apron with red pockets, black apron trimmed in rick-rack and red cotton stockings/ boots that are stitched on. All are unwashed by me. Her soft stuffed body appears to be stuffed with cotton batting. Doll is in Good, primitive condition with lots of overall soil and staining on both the doll and clothing. a cut-out tear in the back of apron at bottom edge, and 1 eye has loosened but it gives her expression and character. Please take care of Ann.
