Antique American 12" Bear, Loved Wesley. This old boy was likely made by the Aetna Company, c 1910 during the teddy bear boom. He has quality features like cardboard lined feet, heart-shaped template nose under embroidery, hump back and long arms. Glass eyes are appropriate replacements, with painted backs and a bit wonky. Soft kapok body with non-working squeaker and no claw stitching I can find. His golden beige mohair is very bare on the head and sparse on the body. He is sturdy and clean. There are repairs to the upper pads and one leg is floppy at the ankle with an old repair. Bear will arrive wearing his antique red waist-coat for looking proper. Shown with his 16" friend, Cecil the Steiff for size reference, available separately. Thank you and please take good care of this bear.
