Charming antique primitive pine tramp art box measuring about 10-1/2" wide, 7-1/2" deep and 6-1/4" tall (not including the handle). Featuring a slightly canted shape with decorative bands of notched wood designed to mimic scalloping - lid is finished with a simple crest handle for carrying - front retains the old eye hook and swing bracket metal closure. Construction is tiny nail with a hinged lid and plain pine interior - based on the tiny nails around the interior edge and trace threads, I'm guessing it was once lined for use as a sewing box or similar.
Condition is very nice with the perfect age related usage wear - it has earned the right to be called primitive with lots of rubbing to the original old yellow paint - structurally sound with no loose pieces, worm holes, or discoloration. All in all a charming antique tramp art box - so shabby and perfectly primitive, it is visually interesting with wonderful folk art appeal - love the yummy butter yellow color - lovely addition to any cottage themed home, collection or display!
