Interesting and unusual vintage 1930s mahogany wood equestrian-themed horseshoe shape ink stand measuring about 5" deep, 2-1/4" tall and 4-5/8" wide. Featuring a hinged, lift-up lid, interior has a bottle port and molded pen rest channel as shown. Bearing a chromed metal horseshoe on the lid, underside is covered in old brown velvet, marked MADE IN ENGLAND.

Condition is very nice with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs or damage other than typical age related wear - the glass insert is missing, and the metal shoe has quite a bit of cased dust in the ridges with some finish loss around the edges and patination to the metal - does not detract a bit. Just an really wonderful vintage figural ink stand - perfect for the horse lover out there!
