Interesting and unusual antique/vintage 1920s solid bronze figure measuring 2-1/2" wide across the base and 2-1/4" tall. Featuring a beautifully detailed pig or boar's head complete with molded ears and elongated snout, it is mounted to a leather covered base with stamped decorative accent around the edge. Incised ITALY on the underside, guessing this was designed as a paper weight desk accessory.
Condition is good with no chips, cracks or damage to the bronze - base has chipping and wear around the edge. Very heavy and solid, the head is mounted to the base with some type of metal - guessing brass, as I can see verdigris underneath where the sculpture meets the base - does not detract a bit. Just an unusual piece - neat addition to any paper weight or bronze collection or display!
