You are viewing a rare Gentleman's " Buttonhole" Swiss watch made in the 1890's. The blued gun metal case measures 28 mm or 1 1/8" in diameter. The dial case measures 13.5 mm or just over 1/2" in diameter. It also has a green guilloche enamel bezel. The extended housing was to be placed through a jacket lapel buttonhole; so. only the dial would be seen and the movement hidden behind the lapel.There is very minor wear to the gun metal finish. The green enamel is fine The dial is porcelain and has a red No. 12 to be able to read the time easier. The watch is stem wound and "pin" set. The watch winds, sets, runs and keeps time.
