You are viewing a French military officer's open face pocket watch made around 1890. The gun metal case measures 2 1/2" in diameter. This is a big pocket watch. The dial is porcelain with enamel highlights. and it is marked: Regulateur. It has a hairline in the center; and, a chip near the sweep second hand. The watch has the original hands and bale. It is stem wound and pin set. The gun metal shows wear. According to the previous owner it was carried by an officer in World War I. The watch winds, sets, runs and keeps time.
