You are viewing a lovely example of the Viennese jeweler Otto Grun. Mr. Grun came to Manhattan and opened up a jewelry store in 1930. He designed a watch for Eleanor Roosevelt and other Hollywood people and notables of the time. The brooch is large measuring 4" tall by 3 1/2" wide. The design depicts the English Royal Crest.. The watch is placed upside down so you can read the time when you wear it. The dial is marked: GRUN. The movement was made by Banner Watch Co. of Switzerland. It is a 7 jewel movement. The watch winds, sets, runs and keeps time. There is some loss to the gold plating over time.
