Lucite petals surround a ruby red rhinestone center on this stunning Trifari Jelly Belly pin. Sterling vermeil beautifully creates the leaves and stems. Rhinestones line the stem and leaf edges for some added sparkle. This lovely pin is a wonderful example of a Trifari Jelly Belly. Designed by Alfred Philippe, patent 139255, filed on August 24, 1944 and approved October 24, 1944.
Referred to as a Peony in American Costume Jewelry 1935-1950 N-Z by Carla Ginelli Brunialti & Roberto Brunialti page 187.
Marked Trifari pat no 139255, sterling. Measures 2-1/2" by 2". Wear to vermeil, some minor yellowing to four of the rhinestones, roll-over component missing on clasp but functions well as a c-clasp. All else in excellent condition.
Gender: Unisex, Age Group: Adult, Color: Red, Size: Medium
