Painted Wooden Axe Trade Sign Remnant c.1900's

This remnant from a trade makes for an interesting bit of folk art. It may represent the sale of axes or possibly the sharpening of blades. The paint looks to be from the mid 1900's. Apple green with a red accent and gray for the blade. Handle is doweled in place, but loose so a nail was used to secure it; an old repair. Condition: Green paint on handle evenly flaked off Size: 35" x 8"

Item ID: 5829
