A vintage 1920's Egyptian propelling pencil in the shape of a Sarcophagus, suitable to wear as a pendant, fob or attached to a chatelaine. The outer case is made from 800 grade silver that has been gilded and also enamelled. There is some minor wear to the gilding and enamel that is to be expected with an item of this age but it does not detract from this beautiful item. It might benefit from cleaning but I will let the new owner decide. The propelling pencil removes by pulling the top and then it unscrews to show the lead, it automatically closes when it is pushed back into the case. ( I hope this makes sense). It measures approx. 2" x 9/16" x 7/16" and weighs 13.2g. These are not very easy to come by, in fact, this is the first I have ever had so add one to your collection while you still can.
