This is a stunning vintage 9ct gold locket that is in stunning condition. It is made from 9ct rose gold with a recessed band of stylised flowers in yellow gold. The inner raised oval has scroll work decoration and the outer band has dark blue enamelling with stylised gold flowering. It opens to space for photos, hair etc., and it still has both retaining rims. It comes attached to a 20" 9ct yellow gold chain which compliments the recessed yellow gold band very well. The locket alone measures approx. 1 1/16" x 7/8" and with the suspension loop and sealed oval jump ring it has a drop of 1 1/2" and together weighs 8.6g. The jump ring has a full London import mark for 1967, having said that it is very possibly 1907 or 1927 as they are all very similar but I will err on the side of caution and say 1967 at the very latest. The chain is also hallmarked for Birmingham 1838 or possibly 1913, again too similar and too small to tell them apart. As mentioned earlier this is in excellent condition and will not disappoint, my photos do not do this beautiful locket justice, in my opinion.
