A vintage English sterling silver charm bracelet that has an ornate hand engraved padlock style fastener and safety chain. It comes complete with 11 sterling silver charms, all with a William Shakespeare theme. Some of these charms are very rare and this bracelet has taken me a long time to compile. There is room for more charms to be added if desired but this is perfect to wear 'as is' or with more charms of your own choosing. The charms are, a Bust of the Bard himself, William Shakespeare, a Stratford On Avon enamel shield, the birth place and home of Shakespeare, Queen Elizabeth 1st (Shakespeare was ardently attracted to Elizabeth and her Court, and proved a faithful servant to his royal mistress), Robin Goodfellow a.k.a Puck, (Puck is a clever, mischievous elf or sprite that personifies the wise knave), Juliette, Bust of Shakespeare on a book that reads THE WORKS OF SHAKESPEARE it opens to pages of his works, BOTTOM, Nick Bottom is a character in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream who provides comic relief throughout the play. A weaver by trade, he is famously known for getting his head transformed into that of a donkey by the elusive Puck. HAMLET holding the skull of YORICK, TOUCHSTONE, Touchstone is a fictional character in Shakespeare's play As You Like It. A Minstrel/ Troubadour and last but not least A comedy and tragedy mask. The bracelet measures approx. 7" and weighs, a massive, 61.2g. One of the links has a leopards head for the London assay office and a date letter for 1977, several other links have a lion passant, the English sterling silver guarantee mark.
