A beautiful antique 18ct gold ring set with a centre sapphire that is flanked by two diamonds either side. The diamonds are a good size and not illusion set in white metal to make them appear bigger. This ring is in excellent uncleaned condition and looks to have had little use. I am not a gemologist so not qualified to grade stones but in my opinion all the stones are very clear and in very good condition. The ring bears a full English hallmark inside the band for Chester 1914, so right on the cusp of the Art Nouveau period and right at the beginning of the first world war, so possibly an engagement ring to a loved one before setting off to war. It is a US size 4 3/4 and a UK size I 3/4 It weighs 2.8g. This is a quality ring that will not disappoint and should you be lucky enough for it to fit then it's a perfect match, having said that, it should be able to be re-sized but taking extra care not to interfere with the hallmark.
