A one-of-a-kind Victorian 15ct gold brooch that has been upcycled into a pendant. The centre has an old cut diamond star within an oval panel that has a cannetille surround and beaded edge. The back has a removable glazed panel to place a photo or hair, if desired. Instead of removing the brooch housings I have had my jeweller add a smaller oval 9ct gold drop that is set with a garnet star and has a cut-out surround, if ever anyone wanted it to go back to its original use then everything, except the pin, is still in place. The C clasp and tiny ring for a safety chain are still in place but are very easy to remove should you wish. It is in very good antique condition, with only a couple of minor undulations that do not detract in any way. I have photographed this hanging from a ribbon and think it would look good hanging from a leather strap but you may think it better from a gold chain. It is suitable for both options. The back of the locket bears a full English hallmark for Chester 1886 and a makers mark of S.H.J. It measures approx. 2 1/4" x 1 1/4" excluding jump ring and weighs 7.3g. A unique pendant that will not disappoint.
