Coro Vendome famous Chrysanthemum Floral Brooch - Designed by Gene Verri - Book Piece.
In 1944 Coro created a new top of the line division named after the fashionable Place Vendome in Paris. It appealed to women after World War II that were introduced to high fashion costume jewelry created by famous Parisian designers.
This beautiful pin is featured on page 183 of Marcia "Sparkles" Brown book - Coro Jewelry - A Collector's Guide, Identification and Values.
The 3/4" high profile of three gold plated chrysanthemum flowers, each encrusted with seven prong set brilliant fuchsia round rhinestones surrounded by contrasting dark green enamel leaves. Three sprays of red prong set navette rhinestone accents enhance the detailed leaves and petals floral bouquet.
The Vendome cartouche is in the center surrounded by a filigree back. The 1" bar pin has a swivel clasp that works smoothly. The pin weighs a hefty 30.7 grams and should not be pinned on lightweight fabric. It is in excellent condition and has never been worn.
Vendome captured the look of high end French costume jewelry in this exquisite highly detailed pin.
