Marcel Boucher Vintage 1966 High Dome Pin Encrusted with faux Emeralds and faux Ruby.
From one of the most famous and highly collectible designers of costume jewelry, Marcel Boucher, this beautiful high dome pin combining faceted and cabochon faux "emeralds" with a center high dome cabochon faux "ruby". All the open back unfoiled stones are prong set in the gold plated setting. The back of the pin is marked Boucher with copyright C and also the catalog number 9391P along the rim. Boucher jewelry is most often marked with a design number ending in P for pin, E for earrings which makes it easier to identify the year of manufacture.
After World War I Boucher worked for Cartier in Paris and also in New York City, he also worked for Mazer Brothers until establishing his own company in New York City in 1937, his costume jewelry was sold first exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue and later in other department stores.
The pin measures just under 2" in diameter with a high dome profile measuring 7/8" to the very top of the faux ruby pointy cabochon in the center. The gold plated setting is bright and the square cut faceted green stone have a brilliant sparkle. It is a timeless and stunning pin to wear, especially elegant and chic, just what you expect from Boucher.
