This item is a Madame Alexander "Little Genius" Baby Doll. She is from the 1950's and is marked on the back with "ALEX". She is from a private collection and is in very good vintage condition. Her petticoat has the tag that reads "Little Genius by Madame Alexander". Her pretty face has the hand painted eyebrows, blushing cheeks and red lips. Her open/close eyes are trimmed in small dark lashes on the upper lid and hand painted lashes around the lower lid. She has a short cut reddish/blonde wig. She is wearing a matching bonnet and dress of sheer fabric and trimmed in lace and blue silky ribbon. Her petticoat is an ecru color, also trimmed in lace. She wears a flannel diaper that is trimmed in lace and held together with a baby pin. She has on pink sock booties tied with a pink ribbon.
She is jointed at the neck, arms and legs. The joints are in good condition, although the neck joint seems a little loose. The fabrics are in good condition - no tears stains or rips that I can see. They do show age appropriate fading and the elastic around the petticoat is a little loose. The dress has the small buttons and button holes - not snaps.
She stands about 8" tall.
