This amazing Carved Tourmaline has been with me for about two years begging for something spectacular to be made for it and I finally was able to design something I think is worthy of the stone. This Tourmaline is an 8.38 carat stone, measuring 11.59 X 8.31 X 5.87mm. The top of the stone is carved in an almost woven pattern but the coulette of the stone is faceted. This tourmaline is relatively clear of inclusions which is unusual for Tourmaline. This ring has a basket prong setting made specifically for this stone and to enhance the setting which I wanted to have some character and individuality, I added setting on the compass point prongs to set small faceted stones in. The North and South stones are small Citrines and the east and west stones are .2 carat Champagne Diamonds. it add just a little bit of sparkle to the setting and offsets the warm rose color of the tourmaline. The stone for the centerpiece of this ring is a one of a kind stone, as most of mine are and I was so thrilled to get it when I did. The ring shank is made from floral patterned wire, which has been burnished to bring up the design. The ring measures 8.5 US Ring size and the stone sits up on the hand. It is a very regal ring which would be a family heirloom to pass down to future generations. This ring was so much fun to make and I know it will be a great addition to your jewelry art works collections.
