This lovely ring is made from Sterling Silver and measures 8.75 US ring size. The stone is a candy pink Kunzite some times referred to as the vampire stone because its color can be affected by sun light. This unusual stone is a faceted Marquis cut but is unusually long and very deep. The stone itself is an 8.8 carat stone which is beautifully eye clean from inclusions. The stone measures 7.5 x 21.2 mm. This long stone sits high in the setting by design and is set in a prong setting adorned with silver beading all the way around the base of the setting.
Kunzite was discovered in 1902, and was named after George Frederick Kunz, Tiffany & Co's chief jeweler at the time, and a noted mineralogist. It has been found in Brazil, USA, Canada, Mexico, Sweden, Western Australia, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
As some of you familiar with my work know I love embedding surprises in the work either with hidden designs or something unusual in the piece. This one has 1 gold bead in the beading around the setting. The back where the Ring shank meets the setting is super smooth and comfortable to wear. This is a great spring accessory and a great gift for a graduation or just because.
