This unusual Pendant is made with a Titanium coated Druzy Quartz. What this means is that the stone, a Quartz with the internal. Crystals exposed, is coated with a titanium treatment and heated to yield a metallic iridescent surface. This one is a peach color and when shown up to the light is translucent to where you can see the outline of the Filigree backing through the stone. The filigree is done with a technique called Russian Filigree but actually the tradition is practiced by many jewelry artists from other parts of the world as well.
It is made from Sterling and Fine Silver, where the fine silver has a much higher content of silver than the Sterling Silver and yields a white finish to the filigree itself. This adds to the design contrasting the bright shiny finish of the sterling.
The picture do not do justice to the amazing color of the stone. the pendant measures 2.75 inches in overall length from the bail to the bottom of the sterling silver bezel setting that the Druzy Quartz is seated in.
This is a bold piece for those jewelry wearers who prefer a larger look and are looking for a statement piece.
It is extremely difficult to capture the amazing colors of this stone: the golds and pinks and hints of blues and purples as the light bounces off of it.
