These earrings were my first foray into the techniques of Russian Filigree. In the making of these I employed a newly learned technique called Russian Filigree. This technique goes back hundreds of years. It often suggests lace and remains popular in Indian and other Asian metalwork. It was popular as well in Italian and French metalwork from 1660 to the late 19th century and used to be taught in metal working schools in the Russian states in the last part of the last century. This is a very labor intensive process and as such each piece is very individual. I am continuing to learn and produce these pieces as they truly are enchanting and intriguing. These earrings are entirely made from Sterling silver and finished with bezel set 4mm Round faceted Tourmalines and two ruby briolettes. They are stunning on the ears and the elongated shapes help lengthen the look of your neck. They are Extremely elegant. The earrings measure 2.5 inches in length.
