1940s Eastern Airlines pilots hat and hat badge from the early days of civil aviation
For your consideration is this guaranteed original 1940s Eastern Airlines pilots hat and hat badge / pin.The badge and hat are fresh out of the former pilots estate where they were found in the top of a closet in a plastic bag. The badge and hat are in excellent as found condition, as can be seen in the photos. There is a few minor dirty spots on the top of the hat (from normal use) that may or may not be visible in the photos. I have not nor will not try to clean it. The badge resembles a sunburst and reads Eastern Airlines and depicts a red falcon or eagle in flight against two tones of blue. The badge is Gold-filled with enamel details. The badge is marked on the back: The Wallace Co., Inc. Prov. R.I. W1/20 10K and weighs approx. 30 grams. The hat is marked Bancroft Pak - Cap US Pat 2368825, 2369275. Also on the inside of the hat band it reads "This Zephyr you can PAC". What a wonderful piece of American History from the early days of civil aviation.
