A fine English George III mahogany double chair back settee, circa 1780. The style is transitional, with a Hepplewhite shield shaped back, carved with exquisitely carved 'Prince of Wales feathers' while the legs are Chippendale style, square with fluting. The settee is 39" high at the back by 32" wide at the front of the seat. The seat is approx. 22" from front to back and seat height from the floor is 18". The settee is solid and sturdy with original finish and new upholstery. There are several repairs to the frame, please see all photos. Guaranteed to be as described.
