An interesting American slant front desk with chinoisserie paint. The desk is late 18th to early 19th century, circa 1800, the painting is probably later. It is painted green with raised gold Chinese style decoration. The wood is maple with pine secondary as far as we can tell. The interior features lots of drawers and cubby holes. Even the cross hatched painted "moulding" on the top of the cubby holes are all little drawers. The hardware is replaced and the back has also been replaced. It is 41 1/2" high by 41" wide by 19" deep. Guaranteed to be as described.
