An interesting piece of furniture. This is the top part of an 18th century American highboy that has been converted to a lowboy. The legs and skirt were made sometime in the early 20th century and are really quite superb in the quality of craftsmanship. Clearly made by someone who understood American period furniture. The original part of the piece is mahogany with pine or fir secondary woods. The finish is probably original, a nut brown color. The hardware is original with most of the original nuts remaining. There is some minor re-building to the back, see photo, and the back of some of the drawers has had worm damage, or some other form of degradation, in the past. The lowboy is 42" wide by 24" deep by 30" high. The only real blemish on the outside is the chunk missing from the top on the front, see photo. The piece is guaranteed to be as described and will by shipped via blanket wrap service.
